Poker is a card game that requires skill and strategy to win. It is played with a group of people around a table, each with their own stack of chips. Players bet on their hands by raising or folding. Poker can be played in different ways, but it typically involves betting by the players in a clockwise direction. The first player to the left of the button, or dealer, puts in one or more chips into the pot, and then players can either “call” that bet with their own chips (matching it), raise it by putting in more chips than the previous player, or fold. If a player folds, they forfeit their cards and their turn in the betting round.

A full house is made up of three matching cards of one rank and two matching cards of another rank. A flush is five consecutive cards of the same suit. And a straight is five cards of the same rank in sequence but from more than one suit.
